Sometimes when you get a craving for something good, you just can't replicate it at home. You need to experience it just as your taste buds intended you to, and for flat iron steak in London, it’s got to be our Glenarm cuts…
Of course, when those cravings do strike, you only need to travel to the heart of Shoreditch to satiate them. It’s here that you’ll find our playful small plates, fresh seasonal dishes, and a menu that celebrates the very best cuts of steak, kissed by fire, beautifully presented and served with care.
Flat Iron Steak
The Flat Iron Steak is a cut taken from the shoulder of the cow, offering a perfect balance of lean meat and natural tenderness. Known for its deep, beefy flavour, it’s a favourite for those who want something bold and decadent that is not your usual fillet or ribeye.
At Daffodil Mulligan, our Flat Iron Steak is grilled over open flames to bring out its rich, smoky character, making each bite a juicy, flavourful, and perfectly cooked morsel of indulgence.
Flat Iron Steak at Daffodil Mulligan
At Daffodil Mulligan, our Flat Iron Steak is treated with the care it deserves. Cooked over an open flame and seasoned simply, the steak lets its natural, beefy flavour shine with every bite. We use award-winning Shorthorn beef, carefully dry-aged in Himalayan salt bricks for 28 days, sourced from the best farms across Ireland and supplied by the renowned butcher Peter Hannan, ensuring top-quality meat that’s tender, juicy, and full of character.
Our Flat Iron is served with seasonal sides and accompaniments to complement its rich flavour: a delectable creamy onion purée, golden chips, and your choice of sauce. Whether that’s a peppercorn, chimichurri, or béarnaise, that choice is up to you. Like all good steaks, it’s simple, bold, and dripping in natural flavours.

More Cuts and Plates from the Grill
While our Flat Iron Steak is an obvious standout, Daffodil Mulligan is far more than just a flat iron steak restaurant in London. From the 350g Dry Aged Sirloin, served with onion rings and your choice of sauce, to the Cotes de Boeuf for 2-3 people, accompanied by our punchy horseradish butter, our grill menu caters to all sorts of carnivorous desires.
Other favourites include our Wood-Fired Chicken, served half or whole with fermented red cabbage and grelot onions, the Sugar Pit Pork with black bean purée, pico de gallo, and sour cream, and the indulgent Forerib of Beef & Bone Marrow Cheeseburger, served with a beef-fat brioche bun and chips. Mouthwatering… we know.
For those who prefer a little more sharing and grazing, our small plates are perfect for dotting around the table. Start with Ember Bread and Soda Bread baked in-house, paired with aioli and salted butter, or enjoy a selection of Irish Cold Cuts featuring coppa, salami, bresaola, lomo, and giardiniera. Other crowd-pleasers include Hereford Beef Tartare with smoked marrow and horseradish, Cauliflower Bhaji with smoked pineapple and cashew cream, Duck Liver Parfait with toasted soda bread and cherry chutney, and Half-Pint of Prawns with Marie Rose and lemon. For heartier small plates, the Pork Belly with palourde clams, chilli, and garlic, Ox Tongue with smoked potato, beetroot, and wet walnut, or Salt Chilli Fried Chicken with cucumber, mustard, and chilli pickles are absolutely perfect for sharing - even if you won’t want to.
Drinks to Pair with Steak
Everyone knows how the right drink can elevate any steak experience, and our bar menu certainly proves that. From crafted cocktails to a wide selection of beers on draught, wine, and spirits, we’ve got everything to complement the bold flavours of our wood-fired steaks.
Our cocktails, for example, are inventive and perfectly balanced. Try our Márgerete with jalapeño ban poitín, grapefruit, and lime for a spicy twist, or the Frozen Margarita with Altos Silver and Cointreau for a slightly more refreshing hit - great if you’re having your steak with our chimichurri sauce. For something a little richer and indulgent, the Red Apple Sour, Clover Club, Gold Fashioned, or Black Velvet are all exceptional choices.
If wine is more your thing, our wine list spans the globe, from crisp Bodega Garzon Reserva Albariño to elegant Chablis 1er Cru Fourchaume, with rich reds like Allegrini Valpolicella and Rioja Gran Reserva. Whether you prefer sparkling, whiskey, wine, or simply some still water, our extensive bar menu has something to pair with your steak.
Then, if you’re in the mood for a pint or post-dinner drinks, don’t forget Gibney’s basement bar, where the atmosphere is always lively, the cocktails are expertly crafted, and the beer flows freely. On draught, we’ve got Guinness from Dublin (and the best-poured pint in London, mind you), Daffy’s Lager from Cornwall, Gibney’s Stout from Kildare, Rye River Session IPA, and a selection of international beers including Budvar, Moretti, and Galway Hooker Pale Ale.
